Recipe: Homemade rose water (hydrosol)

Homemade rose water: the natural recipe

This is a recipe that has been passed down from mother to daughter for generations. Rather easy and quick to make, this “homemade” rose water will be a real ally for your skin.

Find out how to make your own rose water, how to store it properly and how to use it every day.

The rose water recipe:

List of ingredients :

  • 100 g of rose buds dried or rose petals
  • 250 ml of water (distilled, or rainwater or micro-filtered water)
  • 30 drops of cosgard: Optional, necessary if you want to keep your rose water for more than 2 weeks.

Preparation of the recipe :

The day before :

  1. Put the rose buds or rose petals in a heat-resistant container with a lid, ideally a glass container but make sure it is resistant to boiling water.
  2. Boil the water and pour it over the rose in the jar. Put the lid on and leave to infuse overnight (ideally 12 hours of infusion).

D-day :

  1. After 12 hours, the rose will have infused well. Filter the rose water by skimming off the buds then, ideally, filter it again using cotton gauze.
  2. Pour the rose water into tightly closed sterilized jars and it's ready!

You will thus be able to keep your rose water for about 2 weeks if you keep it out of the sun! Do not hesitate to keep it in the refrigerator so that it is very fresh when applied.

You will find dried rose buds of good quality due to their freshness in our online store www.bioriental.com.
